I love old ruins. I also love new ruins. I added a new section to the main web page about hiking around Mt. Maya in Kobe and the various ruins and abandoned houses you can see there. I won't bother adding a direct link, just click on the Main Page, then Good Things and you will see it.
I haven't added new photos to the web page in a long time so I will probably be doing that more than adding to this blog. I added a couple more to the photo section in Good Things before I got tired. By chance they both feature rocks. I sure loved rocks as a kid. My collection of interesting rocks is still at my parents' house. Maybe I should have majored in geology instead of physics.
I remember I used to have a neat piece of petrified wood that my grandmother gave me. It was a nice log shape about 3 inches in diameter and 4 inches long. I guess she obtained it at a time when you could take souvenirs from the petrified wood parks without being cursed with bad luck. Back in the day you could get away with all sorts of stuff. I don't usually lose things so I am absolutely dumbfounded that I can't find it and I'm not sure when over all these years it went missing.
Maybe one of my childhood "friends" swiped it. If so, I hope you are enjoying the curse you rat bastard!
