2004.11.15 My new job involves a lot of travel. I just came from Texas, and now I am in a hotel in California. Before starting this job I took a short trip back to Japan. There I bought a new one gig memory card for my camera, and took too many pictures. So I have added some new shots to the "New Good Photos" section in "Good Things" below. You can find it right? Do you really need a direct link? OK, here it is.
2004.09.22 The months slip by. I finally got a Gmail account. With more and more people getting invitations, they are no longer hot items on Ebay anymore. I have some extra invitations if anyone is interested. Just let me know by e-mail. I am still using the Yahoo addresses below. My Gmail account is the same as the "yahoo.com" address on the lower left, just change the part after @ to "gmail.com".
2004.08.03 There is still nothing new and amazing to report, but it has been awhile since I wrote an update so here we go. I took some pictures of my family's dog. Here they are: One, two, and three.
2004.04.28 So the updates have become very infrequent now. You can blame the tiny dial-up pipe I have now which makes everything I do on the net annoying. I sure do miss my broadband connection in Japan. I am slowly integrating back into American culture and feeling a bit like Rip Van Winkle. The first step in this process was getting a US cell phone so let me know if you want my new phone number. It is weird to use a cell phone as a phone, instead of a hand held e-mail device which is how I primarily used my cell phone in Japan. My new no frills Motorola also can't take any pictures, which is OK because I have my new Canon camera. I am putting up some new pictures in Good Things below.
2004.03.12 Yes, I am back home in New York now. I bought a new digital camera, a Canon SD-10 (IXY-L in Japan), which is much better than the little one I had in my cell phone. So stay tuned for more and better pictures. For my friends in Japan I have created a Yahoo Japan email account so that I can write emails in Japanese. Feel free to use either address below.
2004.02.25 As most of you know I am moving back to America in about a week. How long will I stay in America? What will I do? Nobody knows! Not even me. If you have any good ideas send them to my yahoo email below. When I first came to Japan almost five years ago I found this little can of hairspray. You can see near the bottom of the can one of my favorite examples of Japanese "Engrish". But don't laugh too hard because plenty of Westerners are tattooing themselves with nonsensical Chinese and Japanese characters. T-shirts, notebooks, and cans of hairspray can be thrown away when an embarrassing mistake is found, but a tattoo is forever. Or at least very hard to remove.
2004.02.13 Welcome to gnbenson.com! I finally got around to setting up my domain name properly and finding a new web host. The web page and e-mail from DION will disappear so please update your links and send e-mail to my Yahoo account. As you can see the hit counter is gone. My new host, Fluid Hosting, has better ways to see web stats, and I bet none of you really cared how many hits this page got anyway. The move has gone smoothly but let me know if you see anything out of wack.
2004.01.21 Happy New Year! Yes a bit late, but you are not surprised about that anymore, are you? I have moved the pictures from my trip to China to the Good Things section of my homepage. I have also added one new picture to Good Photos.
